Primary Education Master's Program with/without Thesis:

Primary Education graduate program was opened within the body of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Social Sciences Institute in the spring semester of the 2004-2005 academic year and recruited students for the first time. Primary Education master's program, from the fall semester of the 2011-2012 academic year to the Institute of Educational Sciences; As of the 2020-2021 academic year, it has been transferred to the Graduate School of Education.

There are both thesis and non-thesis master's programs in the Department of Primary Education. Students are admitted to the programs twice a year, in the fall and spring semesters. There are 1 professor, 4 associate professors, 2 doctoral faculty members, and 1 research assistant in the academic staff of Primary Education graduate programs. The program's target audience is primary school education graduates who want to contribute to their personal and professional development.

The purpose of the Master's Program in Primary Education is to provide the competencies of reaching, evaluating, interpreting, and applying information by doing scientific research and expanding and deepening knowledge in an area based on primary school teacher/primary education undergraduate degree qualifications.

The aim of the Non-Thesis Master's Program in Primary Education is to train classroom teachers who specialize in their field and can adapt to today's conditions in the light of universal and national values. The distance education non-thesis master's program, which includes many fields and is almost interdisciplinary, aims to increase classroom teachers' knowledge and skill levels, reach up-to-date information in their fields, and make their professional development continuous.

Our vision as Primary Education Department; In the light of universal values, utilizing the knowledge of science, technology, and art, to train highly qualified individuals who are experts in the field of Primary Education for the future of the country and to present their production in the fields of research and education for the benefit of the society.

Primary Education graduate programs aim to train specialist individuals who have the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and experience to do education, training, and high-level research, who can think critically, have high self-confidence, and have the qualifications to follow the innovations in their field on a national and international scale. In addition, the academic staff aims to provide candidates with a qualified and contemporary education in changing world standards with its infrastructure facilities.

 

Early-Childhood Education Master's Program with Thesis:

The aim of this program is to provide the need for trained staff in the field of Preschool Education in our country under the roof of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, Graduate Education Institute, and to provide education at the graduate level. The academic, theoretical, and practical knowledge of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University will be transferred to the trainees through the program. In addition, this program aims to train preschool teachers who have contemporary and democratic values, contribute to the individual development of children, know human rights and children's rights, respect differences, and have scientific thinking skills. In addition, the undergraduate program aims to train teachers who can use the theoretical knowledge learned in the courses in practice, know the development of preschool children in all aspects, cooperate with the family who play an active role in the development of the child, express their feelings and thoughts, plan activities that will develop the existing potential of children, creative, researcher, willing to lifelong learning, able to use information technologies and adapt them to their field, open to cooperation with different disciplines, and have a high sense of responsibility. In addition, other objectives of the program are to train teachers who consider the benefit of society in their work, who work for the development of society, and who can guide society in line with the knowledge they have about child education.

Our mission is to educate individuals who embrace the values belonging to the field of Preschool Education, who think creatively and critically, who are free and libertarian, who care about ethical values, who have developed nature and environmental awareness, who are rooted in the local, who are open to the universal, who will successfully fulfill the professional and social responsibilities they will undertake with their scientific, social and cultural formation and self-confidence; to produce universal thought, science, and technology in the field of preschool education and to serve humanity and to help and pioneer science, art and culture to find a place in society and gain widespread.

Offered Facilities (laboratory, etc.): There are computer laboratories 1-2, creative drama hall, and adult education classrooms, which are located within the Faculty of Education and can be used by the students studying in the program. Practical and theoretical courses will be carried out using the facilities of these classrooms.
